Martinette Pienaar is a Clinical Psychologist in Taupo, New Zealand, working in public and private mental health settings. Martinette has a special interest in clinical psychological assessments and is experienced in working with trauma and providing trauma-informed care. She is registered with ACC (under the sensitive claims contract) and with Victim Support.
Born in South Africa, she graduated from North-West University (Potchefstroom, South Africa) in 2005. Martinette has worked as a Clinical Psychologist for more than 20 years, first in South Africa, and since 2019 in New Zealand. Her experience includes working in psychiatric hospitals, forensic settings, academia, psychometric research and test publishing, public mental health, and private practice. Martinette gained a professional reputation for her comprehensive psychological assessments for which she was offered various national and international contracts, including assessment of employees for high-risk occupations (such as aviation and nuclear power industries), offering training and supervision to post-graduate students in clinical psychology, clinical psychology interns and practicing psychologists.
Martinette is married and the mother of teenage twins, which allows her to understand the challenges of balancing work, parenting and family life. In her free time, she enjoys being active with her family, gardening and playing with her dogs.
